1696, Tate, 89-90. Comment:
Since Reynolds has misplaced this poem, most readers cannot know that this poem is a continuation of this series Biblical paraphrases, begining with "Hither Ardelia" into which Anne weaves her, her sister, Dorothy Ogle's, and Heneage's crises in 1689-90. In form it recalls George Herbert's emblem poetry. Reynolds recognized this was the only successful piece of this series of verses as poetry.
