1696 Tate, 93. Comment:
Written, perhaps for 1696 Tate, to explain the purpose of her paraphrase of the Apocrypha; she writes to stamp out atheism, libertines, free-thinkers; which Tate in his introduction to his 1696 says is his purpose (the contemporary attribution of "Free- Thinkers" to Anne is not far-fetched).
