Transition

The first sign was strange sensations in her skin. Raven spent days with the uncanny feeling that she was melting.

Ironically enough, when blue scales started reppearing, she went to a doctor. She didn't know what was happening, and wanted to be sure it wouldn't kill her. It was then she learned the cure had recently been discovered to be temporary.

He offered to inject her again, but she immediately refused. Some parts of her would never change.

But her time as Raven had changed her; the first person Mystique told her joyful news to was her good friend Hank.

No Longer

After his powers re-manifested, he tracked Mystique down. She walked into her apartment, morphed into her natural form, saw him, and backed against the door.

"My dear," he said, "you can come back."

"And forget what you said to me when I lay broken and scared? 'No longer one of us.' You made that true then. I don't know how I didn't see before who you really were."

"Do you think they'll just leave you alone forever?"

"Maybe not, but at least I'll die serving noone who'll screw me over the minute I'm defiled. Now get out of my apartment."
