Tortured by our crazy delusions and desires, entangled in ruthless skeins, the small light we start life with dims--while their bread held out, the Hebrews never sought God. So too we struggle on in boredom and anxiety, strained beyond limit to get wealth and those prizes, the deceit is in ourselves, our passions keep us from seeing who we are. Yes, a wanderer on earth who has no charges should study works of love, should turn towards God's shelter with unquestioned belief. Then a light comes we don't yield to, simply see. Never turn back. Follow it to where thought brought you before. |
