With faithful thought I fix my mind on God--
if one means to get into the right road, to be sheltered, protected, to reach Him effortlessly, one must be a sort of sojourner, for, you see, as one's absorbed into His light, the good that we do or want to do repays Him, and joyfully what we receive we give Him as our Master. Then God's light, a fiery torch uncovers what faith is--blessed hope in the certainty God keeps His promises; and when the heart intermingles kindness with God's word, we get a glimpse of a love deathless, burning, and the deep peace to come. |
